OK OK OK!!!
We have been so busy and I am starting to realize that I am NOT a blogger! David and I had some dear friends over last night, and they gave us grief about not updating our wedding blog. We felt it was quite necessary to update since we are only 77 days away!
It is very close! Last Monday I had my hair trial and make up trial and then my bridal portraits. It was so much fun! I was dancing around in my dress with my sister and one of my bridesmaids!! My mom was there and had to leave to go get me some wine to loosen up! I was very tense. And then my dad surprised me by walking in the studio! By the end, I was having a blast! I felt like a model bride that was having a photo shoot! I highly recommend Evoke Photography!!
Next week, David and i will try AGAIN to do our engagement photos. We were scheduled for last week, but the weather changed and it turned out to be a yuck day! We will be taking our pictures at Hermann Park and are very excited!
On January 11th, we will have our food and wine tasting! We go to the Rice Hotel, and decide how to set up the room with the tables and decorations, with the Chuppa and band, and all the bars around the room! Then we will sit down at a table and taste a bunch of food from Sambuca! It should be fun! My sister, my mom, my dad, my step mom, and of course David and myself will be food critics! So exciting!
Also...invitations will be going out pretty soon. They are at the calligrapher being addressed, so be checking your mail soon!
On another note...BOOK YOUR HOTEL ROOM!! The special rate we got for the blocks is only good until February! We blocked rooms at the Alden, The Lancaster, The Hilton Post Oak and The Magnolia. The Rice Hotel is NOT A HOTEL. It is lofts that people actually live in. The Magnolia Hotel is across the street and i think that is where a majority of the people are staying. And...more importantly...that is where David and I are going to stay the night of our wedding before we leave for Riviera Maya the next morning!!!
I hope this updates everyone enough. I need to post pictures, but i haven't upload pics in SOOO LONG! I actually have to get my computer worked on and don't want to lose all the pictures. So as soon as that is taken care of, I will post pictures! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and Happy New Year! 2010 will be a wonderful prosperous year!!! Love to all!!!!

Summer Fun
We had Jack this weekend. He is so much fun!! I really honestly think he thinks that whenever he comes over, he gets to go to a party! We have been to Noah's birthday party, a co-workers birthday party, and Mia's birthday party! We have just had a blast with him and look forward to many many years of memories with him!
As for wedding plans...we are moving right along! We have registered at Crate and Barrel, Bed Bath and Beyond, Continental.com, and TravelersJoy.com. We have decided to go to Maui on our honeymoon and we are leaving Monday morning, bright and early. I went to Dallas last weekend to visit my dear friend, Olivia, from Tech. She was such a sport having a 4 month old in tow, we visited a few bridal boutiques. I finally put a dress on and just fell in love! It is beautiful and I cannot wait to wear it! I purchased the dress in Dallas and it will take 4-5 months to make. In October or November, I will head to Dallas and pick it up, bring it back to Houston and take it to my tailor here in Houston. He will do the alterations for me. No need to worry girls, he does wedding dresses!!
We have an engagement party coming up on July 18th. Because of the amount of friends and family we love, we had to narrow it down. It is only for family, wedding party and close family friends. We wish we could have invited everyone, but March will come soon enough!
I am attaching pictures for your viewing pleasure. A few are from our trip to NYC and then some from our weekend fun with Jackson!
Miss and Love!!

This week has been crazy busy! I am sure I will be doing most of the writing as David just edits! Which is great!
Tuesday we got engaged and now let the planning begin! Wednesday I bought tons of bridal magazines. Thursday we let it set in and went through the magazines together. Friday I asked my bridesmaids to be in my wedding. I sent them all cookie bouquets and they made it fine, but Denisse's couldn't make it on base! We are hoping she gets it today! I had to tell her what was going on so she would be on the lookout. I posted some pictures below of the ADORABLE cookie bouquets!! Friday we celebrated with my dad and his wife. Sat. we had a wedding party...congrats again Ryan and Rosa! Sunday we registered!!!!!!! It was so much fun! I think I may have gone a little crazy, but it sure was a blast! We registered at Crate and Barrel and Bed Bath and Beyond. We registered for gadgets and gizmo's of plenty!
My dad and Gina has graciously offered to host and engagement party and 3 of my bridesmaids emailed me today offering to host a shower! It is so exciting to be on the receiving end of this! We love it and we are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends!!

Welcome!
So after many people have been advising us to create a blog, we have decided this lovely Sunday night to go ahead and do so! So here we are...just blogging away! Thank you so much for joining us and this is such a great way to keep up with us over the next year and learn about all of our wedding festivities!
Many of you know, and many do not, but we got engaged Tuesday, May 12, 2009. It was such an amazing moment! David proposed to Brett outside in her backyard so that she wouldnt know anything was going on. She had no clue. They had eaten some delicious gumbo David made from scratch for dinner and were eating dessert! David went in to "take the trash out" which Brett thought was odd, and came back with a single rose and a card. She got teary eyed and thanked him graciously for the sweet gesture. Then all of the sudden, David got down on one knee, and proposed!! They were both crying and Brett couldn't believe what was going on. After many tears, she FINALLY said YES!
For those of you that dont already know, David and Brett have known each other for over 20 years, in and out of periods of life. They grew up down the street from each other, 5 or 6 houses down to be exact and were in the same group of friends growing up. David moved to north Houston and lost touch with many of his friends. Brett moved after 8th grade, but remained close friends with several of her classmates. After going to different middle schools and high schools, they BOTH ended up being Red Raiders at Texas Tech. Still, neither of them knew they were both in Lubbock in the SAME college at Tech. Both Human Science majors! David being a Hotel Restaurant Management major and Brett being a Human Development and Family Studies major...neither of them doing what they studied! As time passed by, they both went separate ways, but in February 2009, met back up on the internet social networking site, Facebook! It was a love story from the start! After 2 days, they knew there wasnt anybody else in the world for them and they would live happily ever after!!!
